We've got some shoes to fill!! Our successful PTA events count on amazing volunteers, and we're looking for your help:

  • President-Elect: Shadow the current President in preparation to serve as President for the 2019-2020 school year.
  • 5K/Fun Run Sponsorship Chair: Recruit (the PTA will help!) and organize the sponsorship team in order to contact previous and new potential sponsors to enlist support for the 5K, as well as obtain sponsor logos.
  • After School Programs Volunteers: Work with Committee Chair, Kara Brown, to plan our after school and summer camp programs. Research fun course options for students, create communications or help submit necessary forms to the County.
  • Cultural Arts Assembly (International Day): If you enjoy Asian cultures or cuisines and want students to learn more about the continent during a fun interactive assembly, we want your help! Onetime event with full student and faculty attendance - you'll work with Mr. Carmichael to finalize plans and coordinate volunteers.
  • Dining for Dollars: Shadow Opportunity: Shadow the current co-chairs with the intent to take over as co-chair next year. The current co-chairs have it down to a science, so it's a fun and easy way to volunteer.
  • Faculty Basketball Game Shadow Opportunity: If you're looking for a onetime, super-fun volunteer opportunity, here it is!  Our Faculty Basketball Game co-chairs, Trish Alexander and Beth Grim, will be organizing their last game this March.  They are looking to pass on insights and tips to anyone interested in organizing this event next year.  As a volunteer, you'll work with Mr. Sid to schedule a friendly showdown on the b-ball court between VES faculty and a local school, coordinate with 6th grade fundraising volunteers to sell snacks, advertise the event, and order and help distribute game merchandise to sell ahead of the event.
  • PTA Communications Volunteer: Help the PTA design flyers to advertise key events and fundraisers.
  • Science Fair: Shadow Opportunity: Shadow the current chair and promote the fair with flyers; set up registration (signup genius or other); coordinate time/space with school; and establish guidelines for students.

Volunteer in whatever way works for you! Please contact Rehana Parsons at for details, or talk to any of our PTA Board Members!
