Virginia Readers’ Choice

Vienna Elementary School participates in the Virginia Readers' Choice Program, an annual program run by the Virginia State Readers Association which is designed to encourage young readers to read contemporary books for pleasure.  Each year the program offers 10 books for each of the following reading lists:  Primary (Grades K-3), Elementary (Grades 3-5), and Middle (Grades 6-8).  The program concludes in the spring when students vote for their favorite book.  Votes are gathered from all participating schools statewide.

This program is an optional program, offered by the Library and supported by the teachers.  It is geared towards students in Grades 3-6; students read and report on the books independently.  Mr. Love will read the Primary Book selections to students in Grades K-2 during their classroom library time.

If you would like more information on this program or wish to volunteer, please contact Denise Ramsey.
