Get Reading for The VES 2013 Read-A-Thon!

The Read-A-Thon is a four-week adventure where students track reading minutes on VES Read-A-Thon bookmarks and teachers emphasize reading in the classrooms as well as being a fundraiser for library books.  Students turn in their read-a-thon bookmarks the beginning of each week and the class totals are tallied and applied toward class goals.

Class goals are set at the grade-level and are based on minutes read per student each week.  There are some exciting changes this year for the Read-a-Thon and we hope that everyone participates and has great month of reading.

New this year:

  • Classes will be tracked by number of minutes and by participation rate.
  • New rewards for meeting interim goals.
  • Kids can come to the library at 8 am during the Read-A-Thon.  This year, parents do not have to remain with their kids.
  • Parents can donate specific books to the Read-A-Thon via our Amazon wish list or give a general donation to support the Read-A-Thon and purchasing books for our library.
